The liquid crystal display represents a set of the areas containing groups of segment indicators, representing the information. As definition of indications is spent for the purpose of check

Correctness of representation of displayed parametres their scaling imposes demands of maintenance of check of indications of all segment indicators and involves impossibility of conducting of optimisation of algorithms of the recognition based on scaling of indications by the analysis of combinations from a minimum quantity of segment indicators. Thus, in spite of the fact that existing algorithms of definition of indications of the liquid crystal display possess the greatest speed, they do not provide sufficient accuracy of definition of indications of the liquid crystal indicator.

Thereof, in a basis of the developed hardware-software algorithm of machining of the image of the liquid crystal display have been assumed mathematical model of machining of the image of the liquid crystal display (§ 2.4) and algorithm of procedure of recognition of indications of the automobile onboard computer, presented in [35].

Taking into account the general algorithm of the pattern recognition resulted in [36], and algorithms of recognition of the alphanumeric information, in detail observed in [37] and [38], the developed algorithm [52, 58] includes following stages:

1) an image dimensional change. The given stage is realised with application of a method of the bilinear interpolation, showing stable result at small demands to computing ability of the COMPUTER [39]. Value of luminance of each pixel of a new grid is computed by formula (2.16);

2) binarizatsija images by formula (2.17);

3) division of the image into the right-angled areas of a finding of the various symbols consisting of segment indicators [40]. Thus each area has a certain size and arrangement co-ordinates, as is shown in drawing 3.4;

In drawing 3.4 at numbers 1 - 4 segment indicators are shown, at numbers 5 - 16 the symbols defining a regime of indication are shown;

4) definition of value of each symbol on the basis of comparison of a distinguished symbol with symbols from a set of ready templates on a maximum popikselnoj identity of two images (2.18);

5) finishing definition of a current regime of indication on the basis of the analysis of set of the distinguished symbols, calculation of a numerical value of indications of the liquid crystal display.

The listed stages (1 - 4) the developed algorithm was possiblly to realise it is apparatus with use of the programmed logic integrated circuit as operations (2.16 - 2.18) are carried out independently for all pixels of the image of the indicator and can be executed in parallel.

The algorithm Block diagramme is shown in drawing 3.5 where it is hardware operations are gated out by a dashed line.

The developed apparatus-oriented algorithm allows to define correctly indications of the liquid crystal display on the basis of comparison of areas of groups of segment indicators with templates of images of symbols by criterion maximum popikselnoj identity of two images, and also possesses low demands to hardware at implementation with use of the programmed logic integrated circuit.
