Symbols of Russia are important attributes of the state and its army. They developed throughout all history of the country. In December, 2000 the State Duma of the Russian Federation has passed laws on the state symbolics of Russia.

The tradition of domestic military symbolics embodies difficult system of values and graphic means.

Symbol (from grech. συμβολον - the sign, an identification sign) is a sign, i.e. a subject, the phenomenon, an image, making sense, differing from their maintenance. At a symbol this difference consists in value. Value of symbols specifies in the importance of these phenomena as for the separate person (these are individual symbols), and for separate groups of people, the people, the state, mankind as a whole.
